Liminal Learning is committed to creating learning environments where people feel respected, supported, and able to participate fully - with a come as you are approach.
We welcome students from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, including differences in race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic background, nationality, religion, neurodiversity, and ability. We strive to design programs that are inclusive and accessible, and we actively work to reduce barriers to participation wherever possible.
We expect all participants, staff, facilitators, and partners to treat one another with care, curiosity, and respect. Discrimination, harassment, or exclusionary behaviour is not tolerated.
Student policies and expectations
Students participating in Liminal Learning programs are expected to:
Engage with curiosity, honesty, and respect for themselves and others
Participate actively in learning activities to the best of their ability
Treat fellow students, staff, facilitators, and host communities with respect
Follow program guidelines related to safety, wellbeing, and group agreements
Communicate openly and proactively if they are struggling or need additional support
Liminal Learning programs are experiential and relational in nature. Students are expected to take responsibility for their own learning, wellbeing, and conduct, while contributing positively to the shared learning environment.
We reserve the right to address behaviour that significantly disrupts the learning experience or compromises the safety or wellbeing of others.

Essential Eligibility Criteria (EEC)
Liminal Learning programs are designed for young adults (ages approx. 18–25) who are able to participate in community-based, experiential learning environments.
To participate, students must be able to:
Communicate effectively in English in both group and one-to-one settings
Engage in group discussions, reflective activities, and collaborative learning
Manage basic self-care, including personal wellbeing and daily responsibilities
Participate safely in residential and community-based program settings
Seek support when needed and communicate relevant needs or concerns
Agree to the program fee and payment schedule as outlined at acceptance
Cover their own travel costs to and from the program location, unless otherwise stated
Be physically present for the full in-person duration of the Quest
Participate in shared accommodation as part of the Quest, and Heist in-person training
We recognise that students may have a wide range of learning styles, support needs, and access requirements. Prospective students will be invited to an interview in advance to discuss whether the program is a good fit.
